RENO COUNTY, Kan. --- KAKE Meteorologist Ben Pringle says winds as strong as 50 miles per hour could have been to blame for more than 60 downed power poles in Reno County.
These poles were located along highway 50. Westar tells KAKE News initially when the poles went down there were about 1,900 people without power. As of 8:45pm Friday night they said about 270 customers are without power in the Hutchinson area. They also estimate that about 88 rural households are without power in Reno County. Westar estimates it could take about four days before power is fully restored.
