WICHITA, Kan. - Another winter storm dropped 4.2 more inches of snow on Wichita early Monday, causing complications for morning driving.

The snow began around 11:30 Sunday night and ended in most areas by 7:00 a.m. But for hours, even highways were dangerously snow-packed. One minivan slid off Kellogg and crashed through a fence. The driver was not hurt.

Another accident tied up westbound Kellogg for more than an hour during the morning rush hour. The crash happened near Hillside, backing up traffic.

Several schools across KAKEland either closed for the day or went to a delayed opening. But after taking three snow days last week, Wichita schools opened as usual, but some buses ran late.

The City of Wichita began applying a salt-sand mixture around 2 a.m. More on that here: City of Wichita increasing salt/sand treatment of roadways
