Dozens of cats and a few dogs were removed from a southwest Wichita mobile home after being discovered during a welfare check.
Monday morning, police officers were checking the welfare of two teens at a mobile home in the 2600 block of South West Street. Inside, officers found dozens of cats along with three dog living in the home.
The home was extremely dirty but the animals were all well-fed and healthy.
The woman who lives there told KAKE News that she got the first cat about 10 years ago. She said she knew she was supposed to get the animals spayed and neutered but didn't, and apologized.
Animal control officers were at the home throughout the day Monday removing them.
