With snow in the forecast again, K-DOT crews are busy getting ready to keep the roads clear.
With some of the major storms we've had this year, like in Febuary, K-DOT and City of Wichita crews worked 12 hour shifts to keep the roads clear. But with this storm they're playing a waiting game.
Crews will be on standby as they keep their eye on the forecast and then they'll send out trucks as they need to depending on how bad it gets.
"We watch it the whole time. I mean we're just like everyone else, we watch the weather reports and we follow it through the day and through the night. We'll be doing that all weekend too so we know when to call out the crews and use them efficiently,” K-DOT Public Affairs manager Tom Hein said.
K-DOT crews also spent Friday pre-treating bridges and elevated roadways.
