Wichita Police surrounded a school bus Wednesday afternoon after the driver reported a gun on-board.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. at Maple and Socora in West Wichita. The driver pulled off of the road and called 911 after believing children were talking about a gun being on the bus.
Police arrived and soon learned that the children had been talking about "gum" and not a gun. Sgt. Jesse Boomer says the driver followed proper procedure by stopping the bus and contacting 911.
