Minneapolis, Kan. -- A Minneapolis man was sentenced Monday to near 20 years in prison after he was convicted of child sex crimes.

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidts's Office says 29-year-old Thomas G. Retzlaff was sentenced to 235 months in Ottawa County District Court. Retzlaff pleaded no contest in February to charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and rape which occurred in 2012.

The case was investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department and prosecuted by the state attorney general's office.
