If you're planning on flying out of Wichita Mid-Continent Airport over the next couple days, expect to encounter some lines.
Airlines are reporting full loads for spring break travel through the 18th, so the airport will be crowded, and waits may be longer than normal.
"Well, to see full loads is an indication that people are travelling again," said Air Service and Business Development Manager Valerie Wise. "So it's good for the airport and it's good for the community."
While the increase of passengers for spring break is one contributing factor to the lines, it's not the only issue.
Mid-Continent says that because of the sequestration, the number of TSA employees are limited.
"Not that they won't have adequate staffing, but in the past, the TSA has brought in extra help during the heavier travel seasons and they're not going to be able to do that as much this time," Wise said.
The airport is suggesting that you arrive about 2 hours before your flight, especially if your departure is between the hours of 6 and 7 in the morning.
You can check-in for your flight online up to 24 hours before departure.
