Campers at Marion Lake can once again enjoy their favorite past time, just in time for Labor Day weekend.
Park rangers have opened 30 campsites after weeks of restoring what constant rain and flooding devastated earlier this month.
Almost 90 campsites at Marion Lake were under water, and campers like Gerald Sivits were happy to hear some spots were restored.
"Sure enough they had some spots, but they were going fast," said Sivits. "We high tailed it home, got our camper and came back."
The cleaning has been a slow process. Debris is picked up and picnic tables have to be power washed. Rangers inspect each site's electricity and water before it can be occupied by a camper.
All the French Creek campsites are still closed, along with 12 campsites in Hillsborough Cove.
This campground at Cottonwood Point is still about 60 percent shut down.
Rangers hope to open more spots before the weekend. Right now, about six camp spots are available.
