UPDATE: Man found dead at SE Kansas state park identified

GREENWOOD COUNTY, Kan. -- Investigators have released the identity of a man who was found dead at a southeast Kansas state park last week.

The body was found in Fredonia Bay at Fall River State Park last Thursday.

He's been identified as 53-year-old Brent W. Daniel of El Dorado. The circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation.

A man was found dead Thursday afternoon at a state park in southeast Kansas.

The body was discovered around 2 p.m. near Fredonia Bay at Fall River State Park, said Greenwood County Detective Josh Nelson. When deputies and parks officers arrived on scene, they found the body of a man in his 50s lying near a roadway.

Nelson said investigators are working to confirm his identity.

An autopsy has been scheduled, but Nelson said they do no suspect foul play.

The Greenwood County Sheriff's office is still investigating. Updates will be provided as soon as more information is released.
