WICHITA, Kan. — A man was arrested last night after leading deputies on a chase while a toddler was in his truck.
Around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sedgwick County sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a GMC Sonoma for a license plate violation near Sycamore and Maple. The driver refused to stop and a pursuit began.
According to the sheriff's office, the suspect drove about 40 miles per hour to a home near Central and Meridian. There, he got out of the truck with a three-year-old child.
Deputies arrested the 23-year-old man for aggravated child endangerment, possession of opiates, flee and elude and a warrant. The child was taken into protective custody.
