Hutchinson, Kan. -- The man convicted of attacking Reno County Attorney Keith Schroeder has been sentenced to over 21 years in prison.
A jury found 27-year-old Michael Sherman guilty earlier this year of attempted first-degree murder. Sherman was accused of trying to strangle Schroeder in court, with one of the chains being used to restrain him.
The incident happened in July of 2013 while Sherman was on trial for aggravated criminal sodomy. He was found guilty of that crime and sentenced to just under 14 years in prison.
Sherman will serve those sentences consecutively.
