WICHITA, Kan. - A late-night stabbing led to an arrest at an east Wichita nightclub.
It happened in the parking lot of Club Rodeo, 10001 East Kellogg, shortly before midnight.
According to police, two men, ages 31 and 27 were leaving the club when they saw a 24-year-old man sitting in a truck outside. The 31-year-old man said something to the 24-year-old, who then got out of his truck and allegedly stabbed the other man in the side.
The 31-year-old man was taken to a hospital, but was soon after treated and released.
Police located the suspect, who was still on scene, and took him into custody. No names have been released.
This morning, the owners of Club Rodeo released the following statement:
"This statement is regarding the unfortunate incident that occurred last night at Club Rodeo.
First and foremost our thoughts go out to the man who went to the hospital last night. As we understand it- he was not admitted and is doing well.
Secondly- Club Rodeo is working very aggressively with the Wichita PD to provide a safe environment. With that in mind- we chose to close down Thursday nights. We will continue our new country Wednesday nights.
Club Rodeo is a locally owned and family run business that takes pride in providing safe entertainment to Wichita.
