WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita Police have a suspect in custody after a laundromat employee was stabbed during a robbery attempt overnight.
The attack occurred around 1:25 Wednesday morning on East Harry, near George Washington Boulevard. Wichita Police say a 50-year-old employee was stabbed in the stomach during a robbery attempt.
"A suspect came inside, demanded money," Lt. Rick Moscicki said. "When the clerk refused, the suspect swung at him with a large kitchen knife."
The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Police arrested a a 40-year-old man a short distance from the Laundromat.
Police said this laundromat has been robbed several times in the last few months, but they're unsure if this suspect is connected to the others.
