Man stabbed 16 times in southeast Wichita

Wichita, Kan. -- Wichita Police are looking for any information on a stabbing that happened in the 1600 block of S. Old Manor early Sunday morning.

A witness found the victim, a 28-year old man, bleeding heavily with multiple stab wounds to his legs. The man was taken to the hospital in stable condition, where he was treated for 16 stab wounds.

Sgt. Ed Brower says the man was found in the 1600 block of S. Parkwood and officers followed a blood trail to 1600 S. Old Manor.

The victim told police that someone hit him over the head with a bottle, knocking him out. When he came to, he noticed he had been stabbed and then took off running; he ran a block before he came to a stop at Old Manor where he was found.

Police are still investigating and so far, no arrests have been made.
