Man pleads guilty to robbing Wichita bank

WICHITA, Kan. — A Halstead man has pleaded guilty to robbing a Wichita bank earlier this year.

On Monday, 49-year-old John Lee Cline pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery. On January 21, Cline robbed the INTRUST Bank inside a Dillons store at 13th and West Street in Wichita.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Cline handed the teller a note that read: “All of the $ out of your drawr (sic), no questions asked no dye paks (sic) everyone will be fine!!! No alarms!”

Cline was arrested several days later after he was identified from bank surveillance.

He faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,0000. Sentencing is scheduled for July 14.
