Man killed in southwest Kansas crash

LIBERAL, Kan. -- A man was killed early Sunday morning in a crash in Seward County.

It happened just after 2:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 54 on the western edge of Liberal.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said 35-year-old David Selby was heading east on the highway when he drove his Nissan minivan into the west ditch and crashed into a railroad embankment.

Selby was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports state he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is under investigation.
