OSAGE CITY, Kan. — Kansas Highway Patrol troopers are looking for witnesses in connection with a deadly hit and run. Timothy Kemble, 20, of Carbondale, was hit by a vehicle as he walked along U.S. Highway 56 in Osage County. His body was discovered Sunday.

Troopers are looking for anyone who may have been traveling on Highway 56 between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. Sunday. In particular, the patrol wants to speak with a witness who was driving a semi eastbound on Highway 56 during that time period. The driver is not a suspect.

Sheriff Laurie Dunn said Tuesday an autopsy confirmed that Timothy Kemble of Carbondale was hit by a car before his body was found Sunday morning along U.S. 56.

WIBW-TV reports authorities are still searching for the vehicle that hit Kemble and are asking anyone with information to call 1-877-OS-CRIME.

Officials are trying to figure out how a man died after being found on an Osage County highway.

Just after 5:00 a.m. Sunday the Osage County Sheriff's Office received a report of a man walking on US-56 Highway.

A few minutes later, a call came in saying there was a body in the road at the same location, which is located about a half mile west of Paulen Road.

Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn said 20 year old Timothy Kemble of Carbondale was the man in the road and later pronounced dead.

Authorities are asking anyone who was traveling in the area Sunday around 5;00 a.m. or anyone who may have spoken with Kemble Sunday morning call 1-877-OS-CRIME.
