TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Police in Topeka have concluded that a pedestrian who was struck and killed on Interstate 70 took his own life.
The man was identified Friday as an 18-year-old Topeka resident. Police said his name would not be released because the death was a suicide.
Investigators said the man was pronounced dead at the scene around 6:30 a.m. Thursday after stepping in front of an eastbound tractor-trailer.
Topeka police say a man died after he was hit by a semi-trailer truck on Interstate 70 in western Topeka.

Eastbound traffic on the interstate was restricted to one lane as the accident is investigated.
