JEFFERSON COUNTY, Kan. -- A Missouri man died and three people were hurt Saturday afternoon after three motorcycles crashed in northeast Kansas.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. on U.S. Highway 24 in southern Jefferson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said 47-year-old Todd Stevenson of Gladstone, Mo., was heading west on the highway when he attempted to pass on a curve. His Harley Davidson then struck two other motorcyclists.
Stevenson was taken to a hospital where he later died. Reports state he was not wearing a helmet.
A 42-year-old Lenexa, Kan., man who was on one of the other motorcycles suffered potentially critical injuries. A 42-year-old man and 38-year-old woman, both from Leavenworth, Kan., were on the third cycle. EMS treated them at the scene.
