Man attacked with baseball bat

Wichita, Kan. -- Wichita Police are investigating after a man was attacked with a baseball bat Friday night.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of N. Inwood, near K-96 and Rock Road. Sgt. John Hoofer says and 18-year-old man was in a disturbance, with several other men, including a 23-year-old who tried to attack him with a baseball bat.

He was eventually able to get the bat away from the 23-year-old and defend himself. However, several other suspects jumped in and hit him several times.

Several people were treated at the scene. The 23-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police are still investigating.
