WICHITA, Kan. -- One man was arrested following what police call a "drug deal gone bad" Friday evening in east Wichita.
It happened around 8 p.m. outside Towne East Square in the 7700 block of East Kellogg. Sgt. Bruce Watts said an 18-year-old man told police two men entered his car, took his keys and $500 out of his backpack and then left in another car.
Officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle nearby on Rock Road and took a 28-year-old man into custody. He was the only one in the vehicle, Watts said.
"During the interviews later, it was determined that it was a drug deal gone bad," Watts said.
Watts did not say whether formal charges will be filed or if any drugs were recovered.
