Wichita Police said a possible break-in was stopped early today when a man pointed a gun at the suspects.

It happened at 7101 W. Shade at 1:00 a.m. Police said a man and woman heard someone kicking in their door. The 23-year-old man grabbed his handgun and pointed it at two suspects. The suspects ran away without stealing anything.

Neighbor Shawn Thomas says he heard the banging and opened the door to find his neighbor holding the gun. He didn't see any suspects, but says he is happy to know his neighbor was protecting himself.

The armed man was able to give police a description of one of the suspects. He was a white man in his 20's, 6 feet tall, 170 pounds with a blonde buzz haircut. He was wearing black basketball shorts and a grey tank top.
