A man accused of threatening a retired Cleveland police officer was
sentenced to wear a sign outside a police station calling himself an "idiot."
On Monday, 58-year-old Richard Dameron stood outside Cleveland's Second District Police Headquarters wearing a sign apologizing to former "super cop" Jim Simone.
"I get drunk a lot of times, and I make a fool out of myself," Dameron admitted to the Cleveland ABC affiliate.
Dameron will have to wear the sign three hours a day for the rest of the
week. Police said he threatened to kill his son's girlfriend and Officer
Simone back in February.
During his career, Simone was shot twice, including once in the head.
