Man Suffers Skull Fracture In Old Town Altercation

Wichita police are investigating after a 21-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries he suffered in an altercation early Saturday morning in Old Town.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 800 block of East 2nd Street. Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said that during the altercation, a man placed the victim in a choke hold and proceeded to punch him in the head. The victim was rendered unconscious.

Once the victim was taken to Via Christi on St. Francis, it was discovered he had a skull fracture and a brain bleed, Brunscheen said. He was listed in serious condition.

Police said they are looking for a 42-year-old white male, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 275 pounds.
