A man in his early 20s is in the hospital after an early morning shooting in southeast Wichita.
Police were called to the 1700 block of South Yale a little before 1 a.m. Saturday. Wichita Police Sgt. Dale Mattern said several gunshots were fired outside of a house party.
The victim showed up at Via Christi-St. Joseph Hospital, about a block north of where the shooting happened. He was later taken to another hospital. Mattern said the man was in serious but stable condition.
Officers and detectives were searching nearby homes and yards for evidence and to make sure there were no other victims. At least three vehicles parked in the neighborhood were hit by bullets, Mattern said.
