Man Killed While Trimming Trees

A man was killed today while trimming a tree at a North Wichita home. Emergency crews were called to the scene in the 1900 block of North Minneapolis.

Wichita Police said the man and some friends were trimming trees and had tied ropes around themselves. Emergency workers said the man accidentally sawed the branch he was sitting on.

The man fell approximately 45 feet. The rope around his waist tightened, possibly causing internal injuries.

The man died a short time after being taken to Wesley Medical Center.
