A Kansas man was struck by a truck and killed when he went to check on an injured deer.
The accident happened late Tuesday afternoon on Kansas Highway 16 in Pottawatomie County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said Wesley Esping, 62, of Olsburg, KS, walked from his driveway to the highway to check on a deer that had been struck by a vehicle. Esping was struck by a pickup truck driven by an 88-year-old Randolph, Kansas man. Esping was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck driver was not hurt.
