A bouncer was critically injured in an early morning shooting outside a west Wichita bar.
It happened about 1:45 a.m. at Drunken Monkees in the 3800 block of West Maple.
Wichita Police Sgt. Jim Merrick said the bouncer, a man in his 30s, was escorting people out of the bar when about a dozen shots were fired. The bouncer was hit at least twice and taken to an area hospital in critical condition. He is expected to survive, police said.
Part of Maple was temporarily closed following the shooting. Police are still investigating, and no arrests have been made.
