A man was seriously injured in an accident at a Stafford County oilfield Thursday night.

Shortly before 10 p.m., emergency crews were called to an oil rig near SE 30th Avenue and SE 30th Street, near the intersection of Highways 50 and 281.

According to the St. John News, crews were responding to the report that a man was crushed after a large piece of equipment fell on him.

He was taken to an area hospital, then airlifted to Wichita. His name has not yet been released and his current condition is unknown.
