Man Dies In Southeast Kansas Rollover Crash

A 26-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash early Saturday morning in southeast Kansas.

It happed around 12:15 a.m. on County Road 1700, about a half-mile north of Caney in Montgomery County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a Ford pickup was heading southbound on the county road when it left the roadway, overturned and came to rest on its top in a creek.

The driver, Timothy Garton of Caney, was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports state he was not wearing a seatbelt. No one else was in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
