The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a crash about one mile south of Augusta Friday afternoon.
State troopers say 21 year-old Kenneth Shaw of Douglass was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident that happened just before noon on Highway 77 near SW 120th.
Troopers say Shaw's 1997 Dodge crossed the center line and collided head-on with a semi truck being driven by William Wasmer of Wichita.
The 51 year-old Wasmer was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in potentially serious condition.
The highway patrol says Shaw was not wearing his seat belt.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a young man was killed after an accident Friday near Augusta.
It happened shortly before noon on Highway 77 near SW 120th. State troopers say the man was driving a car south on 77 when for an unknown reason, cross the center line.
The car crashed into a northbound semi-truck, head-on. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was taken by EMS to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in potentially serious condition.
It's unclear what may have caused the driver of the southbound car to cross into northbound traffic, but state troopers are still investigating.
No one else was involved in the crash. The victims names have not been released
