Police say a disagreement over money led to a shooting over the weekend, leaving one man critically injured.

The shooting happened early Saturday morning in the 300 block of North Lorraine. According to Wichita Police, two men came to the home concerning a disagreement over money. A 50-year-old man answered the door and an argument ensued. One of the suspects then pulled a gun and allegedly shot the man once.

The victim's girlfriend called 911 and he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Officers have since arrested two men, ages 19 and 22.

A middle-aged man was in critical condition Saturday after an early morning shooting in east Wichita.

Police say a 34-year-old woman called 911 around 5:30 a.m., saying her boyfriend had been shot. When officers arrived in the 300 block of North Lorraine Avenue, they found a 50-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition. His name has not been released.

No arrests have been made. But police say they have some good leads. They are looking for a man in his 20s who may be connected to the shooting.

"It's a really quiet neighborhood you wouldn't expect for anything like this to happen," neighbor Kiearra Wilson said.

Another neighbor, who talked to KAKE News, says he was woken up by the disturbance. He says he saw a car outside of the man's home, heard a single gun shot, and then saw the car drive off.

Most other neighbors heard about the shooting for the first time when police officers knocked on their doors asking questions.

They say they are shocked to hear the shooting involved the kind man they often see sitting on his front porch.

"He was always outside fixing his cars and what not," Wilson said. "He's a very nice guy."

Police declined to talk about where the man was shot or how many times he was shot.

They say are withholding most of details of the case because of the active investigation.

"It's just scary so close to home," Wilson said. "For someone like him, he's an older man. He doesn't bother anyone. So, what did he do to deserve that? It's just crazy. It scares me."
