UPDATE: Sunday, June 15, 2013
An El Dorado man remains in serious condition following a motorcycle accident Saturday morning on a Wichita highway.
It happened around 8:45 a.m. on the ramp from southbound I-135 to westbound Kellogg.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said 65-year-old Johnnie Cawthorn III was heading southbound on the ramp when his motorcycle left the roadway and hit a guardrail.
He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered amputation of his left arm, a 911 dispatch supervisor said. He was taken to Via Christi on St. Francis in critical condition and was listed in serious condition Sunday morning.
Both ramps to westbound Kellogg were shut down following the accident.
