A man is in critical condition after being shot Friday evening in northeast Wichita.

It happened around 6:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Poplar. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 49-year-old man had been shot in the neck. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition.

Police say the shooting begans as a squabble over money. The argument started with two women who are neighbors, but eventually involved up to 9 people.

Two men in their twenties ended up shooting at each other. Police say the victim was caught in the crossfire.

Police stopped a vehicle that was involved. Police have identified a possible suspect and are looking for him now.
