Police are looking for a man who robbed a Wichita QuikTrip, telling employees he had a bomb.
Last Friday, January 18, a driver pulled up to a pump at the QuikTrip store located at 5602 E. Harry.
The man pushed the help button, and told an employee that he was handicapped and needed help getting gas. When a clerk came out, the driver, still in the car, handed him a box and told him it was a bomb. The suspect pushed the button again, and told a second employee to bring money outside or he would detonate the bomb.
The second clerk complied, and brought the money to the man. As he was driving off, the first employee threw the box back into his car.
Neither employee was hurt.
Police said this crime was well thought out, and was not like anything they had seen before.
Officers are looking for a blue Chevy Impala without a license plate. The suspect never got out of the car, and employees were unable to give a useful description.
