A man was chased off during a robbery attempt at an east Wichita apartment complex Saturday morning.
It happened around 8 a.m. in the 200 block of North Hillside Street.
Wichita police say the man was going through unlocked cars in the parking lot. In one of these cars, he found the address of its owner. He then knocked on their door.
When a woman answered, he showed a knife and demanded the car keys. He got the keys and went to start the car, but the woman’s husband went outside and chased the man off.
The suspect is described as a thin white male in his 20s, 5’8”, brown hair and beard, and wearing a dirty black hoodie and gray cargo pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
