Wichita Police took two women into custody after they were caught shoplifting and one of them used a stun gun on a loss prevention officer.

It happened shortly before 5 p.m. Friday at the J.C. Penney's, located at Towne East. Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said an 18 and 21-year-old woman were spotted by security shoplifting.

The Loss prevention officers confronted the women in the parking lot once they left the store. That's when police say the 21-year-old woman pulled out a stun gun and used it on one of the security officers.

The officers were able to take both women into custody. The 21-year-old woman was booked into jail on charges of aggravated battery and felony shoplifting.

Police say she also had a history of shoplifting. The 18-year-old was arrested for simple shoplifting which is a misdemeanor.

The loss prevention officer was not seriously hurt.
