A southwest Wichita liquor store was robbed Thursday night, and police say the suspect could be connected to several other armed robberies over the past two weeks.
At 6:45 p.m. Thursday, a man walked into Lamar's Liquor at 1014 W. Pawnee.
He grabbed a single beer from the case, walked to the register and pulled out a black handgun. He then demanded money and the clerk's wallet. He took both and left.
The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 20-years-old, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighed about 190 pounds. He was wearing a multi-color polo shirt, blue jeans and a tan stocking or skull cap.
Wichita Police also said this robbery is similar to other recent armed robberies in the area.
On November 19th, a man robbed the Walgreens store at 5500 E. Harry. The suspect in that case pulled out a handgun and ordered the clerk to back up, then took money from the cash register.
Later that week, A Coastal Mart store located in the 7100 block of East Lincoln was robbed at knifepoint twice, on November 21st and November 23rd.
Then on November 28th, a man robbed the D&T gas station in the 800 block of North Woodlawn. The suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk, and took money and a single pack of cigarettes.
