LAWRENCE, KS -- A 29-year-old Lawrence man has been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of another man in the south central section of Lawrence early Saturday morning.
Police said Patrick Roberts, 39, was shot at about 3:10 a.m. at 2403 Cedarwood Avenue. He was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where he later died.
Investigators said they determined that a fight had happened at the home, and that led to the shooting. Police said several people were at the home when the shooting happened, and that at least two people fled from the scene. Two of those individuals were found by police and taken into custody for questioning.
Police said shortly after 9 a.m., Dustin D. Walker was arrested for first degree murder and taken to the Douglas County Jail.
Lawrence police are investigating after a man was killed early Saturday morning.
Officers were called around 3 a.m. to a shooting in the 2400 block of Cedarwood Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 39-year-old man had been shot. He later died at a local hospital. His name has not been released.
The Lawrence Journal World reports that two people have been taken in for questioning, but no arrests have been made.
