UPDATE: Child dies after crash on west Kellogg

WICHITA, Kan. — A child has died following a crash in western Sedgwick County late last week.

Four members of a Goddard family were involved in the crash that was reported just after 7:30 Friday morning on Kellogg near 151st Street West.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the family was in a minivan heading east on Kellogg. The KHP crash log reports the accident occurred when the van turned left at 151st in front of a westbound sedan and was hit.

The four people in the van were transported to area hospitals, but one of them has since died. Five-year-old Alexandria Thimesch was transported in critical condition and passed away over the weekend.

Eleven-year-old Tristen Thimesch, 7-year-old Noah Thimesch and their mother, 38-year-old Gail Jean Thimesch have since been treated and released.

The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

The accident is under investigation.
