Kansas woman dies after Prius collides with semi truck

An elderly woman is dead following a crash Monday night in southeast Kansas.

The accident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday at the junction of Highways 400 and 169 in the northeast portion of Montgomery County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a Toyota Prius was on an exit ramp from highway 400 to eastbound highway 169. According to the online crash log, the driver didn't stop at a stop sign and hit a semi truck that was southbound on highway 169.

The driver of the Prius, 73-year-old Jeanne M. Bressie of Overland Park, was transported to an area hospital where she later died.

The 48-year-old driver of the semi was also injured and taken to a nearby hospital. His current condition is unknown.
