A Kansas man is hospitalized after his motorcycle collided with a deer.

On Friday, July 25, Barton County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of Northeast 100 Avenue for the report of an injury accident.

A northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle had struck a deer that ran out from an adjacent cornfield. The rider lost control and slid about 165 feet before coming to rest.

He was transported to a hospital in Hoisington with head injuries and other injuries to his lower extremities. Due to the severity of injuries, he was later flown to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita where he is listed in stable condition.

He's been identified as 63-year-old George M. Goddard of Hoisington. The Barton County Sheriff's Office reports he was not wearing a helmet.
