SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- A Kansas high school marching band set to perform at a college football bowl game in California lost their instruments to theft.
The ABC affiliate in San Diego, 10News, reports that high school students from Riverton, Kansas drove more than 1,500 miles to play at half time during last night's Holiday Bowl.
But while their bus was parked outside an area hotel, someone broke in and stole their instruments. Two saxophones alone cost nearly $3,000 a piece.
The performance was almost canceled, but another area high school stepped in and loaned instruments to the students.
