Kansas Child Porn Suspect Scheduled To Change Plea

By: Associated Press

Sunday, February 10, 2013

A Johnson County man accused of possessing and distributing child pornography as part of an international child porn investigation has decided to change his not-guilty plea.

Michael Arnett of Roeland Park, Kan., was arrested in May after federal agents traced a photo from a computer in Wisconsin to him. The picture contained a water bottle with the name of an Overland Park swim and scuba center.

Investigators seized Arnett's computer equipment and found disturbing online discussions between Arnett and other child porn suspects about kidnapping and eating children.

Elementary school teachers identified three young boys in the photos, and one of the boys pointed authorities to the 38-year-old Arnett.

He initially pleaded not guilty to three charges, but is expected to change those pleas in federal court Monday.
