Kansas law enforcement agencies are looking for a man posing as a Highway Patrol trooper who pulled over a driver in southern Kansas and handcuffed him, then rifled through his vehicle before freeing the man and taking off.

Officials say it's too early to know if the July 16 incident Monday in Kingman County is related to one earlier this month on the eastern side of the state in which an 18-year-old woman said an impersonator sexually assaulted her.

Osawatomie police detective Donnie Basore says he's still investigating the July 2 stop that happened around 10 p.m. in Miami County. The incident Monday happened around 2:30 p.m. on Kansas 14, two miles northwest of Nashville.

Kingman County Sheriff Randy Hill says the impostor is considered armed and dangerous.
