WICHITA, Kan.-- A Kansas National Guard member is in a Texas jail on a federal charge for transporting a minor with the intent of sexual activity.

A complaint filed by the United States District Court in the Southern District of Texas, shows the defendant as Paul Francis Grimm of Goddard, Kan.

Grimm is accused of going on a cruise with his daughter's friend and engaging in sexual activity. The complaint shows that the minor is from Ohio.

The pair was initially questioned by the United States Customs and Border Patrol at the Galveston, Texas Cruise Ship Terminal on March 29th. A patrol officer became suspicious of them because of their age difference and the fact that they were traveling together as non-family.

The Kansas National Guard confirmed that Grimm is a facilities manager of the 184th Intelligence Wing in Wichita and joined the Guard in 2003.

If the allegations are substantiated, the Guard will terminate his employment.

Grimm's preliminary hearing will continue on April 18th.
