KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KMBC) — Police in Kansas City, Kansas say they're investigating a shooting and a chase involving teenagers that led to multiple arrests early Sunday.

Officers said they responded to reports of gunfire in the area of 18th Street and Ridge Avenue about 1 a.m. and saw two cars speeding away.

One of the cars crashed three blocks away on Grandview Boulevard and six people jumped out of the car. Police said they were able to catch them near 11th Street and Ella Avenue.

Two of those people had gunshot wounds and police said they were taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the other car led police into Missouri, where officers pulled it over and made additional arrests.

Investigators said they're trying to determine how the people in the two cars knew each other.
