Preliminary reports indicate that the death of Kansas State University sophomore Thomas McCord was the result of complications from diabetes.
McCord, 20, from Overland Park, was found dead inside his dorm room by his roommate and his roommate's girlfriend on Sunday, October 28.
University staff and campus police responded to Marlatt Residence Hall around 2:15 p.m.
K-State officials confirmed on November 8, 2012 that McCord, a member of Sigma Pi fraternity, died of natural causes according to preliminary autopsy results.
A memorial vigil was held for McCord last week at St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center on campus as students continue to mourn his death. Counseling services have been offered to those students affected by his death.
Donations in honor of McCord may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, in care of McGilley and Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapter in Overland Park.
