Nickerson, Kan. -- A trucker suffered minor injuries after his semi rolled over west of Nickerson.

It happened around 2:20 p.m., just west of Nickerson on K-14 at Cenntenial Road. The Reno County Sheriff's Office says 31-year-old Jeffrey Compton of Great Bend was traveling west of K-14 when he left the road for an unknown reason.

Deputies say Compton attempted to steer the truck back onto the road when he lost control and rolled the semi over. He was treated at the scene by Nickerson EMS for minor injuries.

The sheriff's office says the highway will remain closed till approximately 10 p.m. Deputies say drivers can detour the area by going east, take Sego south to 43rd, then east to Nickerson Road and back North to Nickerson. If you are going west from Nickerson, go south on Nickerson Road to 43rd, then west to Sego, then back north to K-14.
