Wichita, Kan. Joyland is donating it's merry-go-round to Botanica.

Margaret Nelson Spear and the Nelson family, owners of the closed Joyland Amusement Park, are making the donation this weekend. In a news release, Botanica says late owner Stan Nelson, who passed away in 2010, had always wanted to rides at Joyland to be enjoyed by children and families.

A fundraising campaign has been started to restore the merry-go-round to its original condition and to construct a building to house the merry-go-round so it can be enjoyed year-round.

The ride has been in storage since 2004.

For more information on this project or to make a donation to the project, contact Botanica at 316-264-0448.
